Empowering SC/ST MSMEs: National SC-ST Hub’s Entrepreneur Awareness & Special Vendor Development Programme (EA&SVDP) Sees Strong Participation in Nagpur.

Nagpur, 22 June 2026: Th Entrepreneur Awareness & Special Vendor Development Programme (EA&SVDP) was successfully organised by the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH), Ministry of MSME, Government of India, in collaboration with the Buddhist Entrepreneurs Association of Commerce and Industry (BEACI) at Nagpur. The event witnessed the participation of nearly 200 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, with a focus on empowering SC/ST MSMEs through government procurement opportunities and institutional support.

Welcoming the participants, Shri Ratnadeep Kamble, Founder Chairman, BEACI, inspired entrepreneurs to become job creators rather than job seekers and encouraged them to leverage government schemes, innovation, and collective efforts to build sustainable businesses.
Shri Mahendra Malviya, Incharge, National SC-ST Hub, Mumbai, highlighted the initiatives of the National SC-ST Hub and emphasized the 4% Public Procurement Policy, which mandates Central Ministries, Departments, and CPSEs to procure a minimum of 4% of their annual purchases from SC/ST-owned Micro and Small Enterprises. He urged entrepreneurs to obtain Udyam Registration, onboard the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), and actively participate in public procurement opportunities.

Shri Ashish Kumar, Chief Manager, NSIC, spoke on NSIC’s support services, while Ms. Parineeta Pandhram, Deputy Director, MSME-DFO, Nagpur, explained various MSME development schemes and opportunities available for entrepreneurs.

Representatives from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Western Coalfields Limited, and Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) shared procurement processes, vendor registration procedures, and business opportunities available for MSMEs and SC/ST suppliers.
A technical session by Shri Ritesh Singh, GeM Facilitator, guided participants on GeM registration, catalogue management, and participation in government tenders. Shri Subhash Gajabhiye, AGM, Union Bank of India, discussed MSME financing options, while CA K. N. Maheshwari delivered a session on financial literacy and compliance. The representative from District Industries Centre (DIC), Nagpur, also briefed attendees on key State Government schemes.

BEACI Co-Founder Ms. Sweety Kamble highlighted the need for active participation of women entrepreneurs in the SC-ST Hub programme. She urged women to come forward and avail the benefits of various government initiatives designed for enterprise development. She emphasized that women-led businesses have a crucial role in strengthening the nation’s economy and encouraged aspiring women entrepreneurs to leverage institutional support, government schemes, and market opportunities to achieve sustainable growth. She also extended her best wishes to all women entrepreneurs for their future endeavours.

The programme concluded with an interactive discussion addressing participants’ queries on government procurement, financing, vendor registration, and enterprise development.
